Romans

This sermon recaps all that we have covered in the book of Romans so far. The question that frames our discussion is this, "Does God's provision of justification by faith in Christ still matter?" Some today would say no. Sadly for many evangelicals the vital question of, "How can I be accepted by a holy God?" has been subtly replaced with, "How can I live a better life in a more fulfilling way?". In the first five chapters of the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul crystallizes the reality that God does not merely heal the morally sick, or reward those who try to do their very best. No, instead the gospel declares this radical truth, "God justifies the ungodly" (Romans 4:5).
