Yahweh declares, saves, and proclaims, so that we may know and believe that He is God.
When Yahweh wishes to prove His exclusive deity, He points to the people whom He has carried throughout history to be His witnesses. Though Israel is described as blind and deaf, they stand as a witness to Yahweh's divine ability to carry out His covenant declarations of salvation toward them. In this trial speech Yahweh challenges the nations to do the same---to produce a witness who can testify that their gods declared and directed history on their behalf. If the pagan nations cannot furnish a witness, they must surrender to the truth that only Yahweh is God.
